Junior Mission for All – usually known as JMA
Junior Mission for All because the money raised by JMA is spent on projects involving children and young people. However JMA involves all ages within the church, and friends beyond, as collectors and contributors.
JMA often provides our church’s younger members with their first opportunity to get involved with mission beyond our own church. It is one way they can get involved to ‘Make a Difference’. Here at HHMC collectors regularly collect money from members of the congregation (and friends and family). In the past few years regular contributions have varied from between 2p to 50p a week. Some people prefer to give monthly contributions and some have a JMA pot (as seen above) into which they pop loose change and then periodically give to the JMA secretary to be emptied. Three times a year collectors receive a magazine, Rainbow, which tells them briefly about some of the mission fields in which the funds they collect are spent. This means that they are learning about the work of the church in the wider world, not just here at HHMC. £1 out of every £5 raised is used for 'Mission in Britain' and the remaining £4 for work in other parts of the World Church. (In Ireland it is split half and half). Some adult members are also JMA collectors.
An annual JMA service is held after the end of a collection year to recognise the work of collectors and contributors during that year.
