:: Marlowes Leisure Group ::
Marlowes Leisure Group is a non devotional social group within our Methodist Church. Founded in 1996 it has around 25 members ranging in age from mid fifties to over eighty.
We are an easy going group and new faces are quickly made welcome. So please don’t be afraid if you want to visit us alone. Both men and women are welcome. We meet every two weeks on a Tuesday evening in the Methodist church hall in Marlowes, in front of the West Herts. College.
The format for the evening is simple with the meetings starting at 8.00 pm with any notices, then the speaker takes over for between twenty minutes and an hour, then light refreshments are served. The evening costs just £1.50.
We have a broad range of speakers keeping us informed about services to the community, both local and national, charities and hobbies. Or entertaining us with intriguing insights into their fascinating lives. We have a Christmas party, an anniversary dinner in March and a summer outing in June/July each year.
Parking is available on the nearby road and there is plenty of parking under the Civic Centre next door. We can also use the college car park but it is usually busy in the early evening. Disabled parking is available in a small car park at the front of the church grounds offering level access via a ramp on the far side of the church. The entrance to the church hall is through the blue door, off the exit road from the car.
Please come and try us for size.
