Vision Statement

Hemel Hempstead Methodist Church exists to worship God, as we grow in faith, fellowship and love for one another, to seek to serve God and the community, and through our lives and witness, help people to come to a deeper knowledge of Jesus Christ.

To achieve this we will:

Worship
Worship God together in unity in one place, recognising and affirming each other’s different styles of worship and understanding of aspects of the faith, and encouraging people to use their various gifts.

Learning and caring
Provide pastoral care and opportunities for spiritual growth for the church and its community through a variety of fellowship groups .

Service
Provide service through activities which meet the practical needs of the community, develop links with other churches and organisations who are equally committed to responding to human need in the town, continue to support areas of outreach across the town, and address issues of a global nature.

Evangelism
Encourage people to be followers of Jesus Christ through friendship, support, the example of our daily living and through fresh expressions and outreach programmes, e.g. children and young peoples work, Oyster Club, Alpha and other discipleship courses.

Closing statement

We are different people who are on a common journey, wanting to value and draw from each other’s strengths, and be guided by the Holy Spirit as we seek to follow Christ. We aim to provide the best environment we can to enable all the above activities to take place, through the provision of a suitable building and adequate resources.
